One of our cats, O'Keefe escaped. We couldn't figure out how at first, then the thought came to me, it's that tiny hole on the side of the air conditioner between the cardboard and the window. I'd noticed it pushed back, and wondered how it got like that. Didn't figure it was big enough for a cat. Turns out, a cat had pushed the cardboard back getting out. Well. We can put a stop to that. I cut a piece of board that was a shelf gone awry to 14 1/2 inches (just larger than the hole), and drilled two sink holes into it so I could put a 3/4 inch screw in to screw it to the window frame. I've screwed it in place, and we now have one very pissed cat attempting to figure out how she can get around the solid plank of wood between her and the outside world. muhahaha, she escapes no more!!! My evil plan to keep her imprisoned forever can not fail now!
